Relating to God.......Reaching Others

PALS:
Don't forget that PALS meet every second Saturday of the month from 2-5 PM in the church narthex.  It is always a fun time with a mixed group of adults who are a part of Woodhaven, as well as some friends.  Card games, dominoes and other games make it a fun afternoon for all.  Questions, call Barb Steketee at 616-878-9606 or the church office at 616-532-0532

Woodhaven Fitness:
Woodhaven now offers fitness activities like weight training for men and women, basketball, co-ed volleyball and Yoga Pilates.  Click here to see the schedule.

Friends Helping Friends:
The first Saturday of each month has been set aside for our families and friends who need a hand with home repairs, yard work and other things.  Recent families received help with window washing, water damage, tree trimming and other things (Photo Gallery).  Join us at 8:30 AM at church to offer help or call for assistance if we can help you.  616-532-0532 or Barb at 616-878-9606

Meals of Love:
In an attempt to help members, friends, and families needing a homecooked meal, we have prepared meals that are frozen and placed in our church freezer.  Over a hundred meals have gone out since it's inception in January 2009.  No strings attached, only that it would be of help.  A team of cooks meets to prepare pork loin, meatloaf, roast beef, chicken hot dish, soups, parsley potatoes, hashbrown casserole, and yams.  It has reached out to our sick, those recovering from surgeries, people struggling to make ends meet.  One more facet of our Outreach to help our own and to reach out ot others.

Paperbacks for Prisoners:
We are collecting Christian paperbacks, both fiction and self-help books as another way to reach out and help prisoners in their spiritual journey.  Bible study books and other books to encourage are left at the church and taken to the prisoners.

Missions and Missionaries:
Woodhaven supports 9 missions and 7 missionaries throughout the world and in the greater Grand Rapids area.

"Bob's Friends" is a new project where we have "adopted" a low income apartment complex.  Our intent is to be a help to the many handicapped residents both with odd jobs and other ways.

Past Mission Work:
Summer of 2008 we had a mission trip to Kentucky and a Youth mission trip to Tennessee.
